This looks like it's a duplicate (bug and effort) of Bug #179923. I contacted Emmanuele to be certain, however I think he repackaged fprint, which is not Flybook-specific BTW.

I hadthe finger print reader working but there are other issues. The problem seems to stem from GDM and other security packages not including FingerPrint support officially - at least not in the Ubuntu Repos. I'll uave to go back and find the drivers. This device is pretty standard and I think I tested it with two drivers but never took the time to patch together GDM. Gimme a week and I'll see if I can't find what I did...
