Bug Description
On this page:
https:/
It says:
Filing a general bug against no particular package
If you're not sure which package is affected by the bug, type ubuntu-bug in the "Run Application" window and click Run. This will guide you through a series of questions to gather more information about the bug.
This is false. In 11.10 i386, running in the Live image from a USB stick, I hit Alt-F2, typed "ubuntu-bug", and hit return. It made a window and asked me to pick a multiple-choice (Is this a display (X.org) bug?, etc). When I checked the box for "Other", it
exited without filing a bug report!
Fix:
While the Ubuntu bug reporting process is clearly designed to LIMIT the number of bug reports filed, the documentation should either tell people "If you don't know what application to file a bug against, THEN SIMPLY DON'T FILE THE BUG". Either that,
or apport should be fixed so that it actually lets you file bugs against no known package.

Apport is behaving as designed. I agree that help.u.c. should be updated accordingly.
