Bug Description

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ModMono

According to history, most of this stuff was written in 2009, then a minor update took place at 2014, and finally today I fixed a broken link. That leaves 98% percent of the content 5 and a half years old. No wonder some things got outdated:

1. Contents / heading hierarchy seems to be a bit confusing: it is not clear to me which parts belong to AutoHosting and Non-Autohosting, and which apply to both.

2. I just went through an AutoHosting installation on a Ubuntu Server 14.04, here's some differences I noticed:

- Looks to me there's no need to stop/restart Apache or enable the Apache module after install anymore - the package install does all this now.

- There's now a mono-apache-server2 and a mono-apache-server4 package in the repository. Best to ignore them both, and use the mono-apache-server metapackage which will install the default (latter) of the two. (Installing mono-apache-server2 in Ubuntu 14.04 may also lead to problems later.)

- No need to install mono-devel by hand - in Ubuntu 14.04 it's an indirect dependency of mono-apache-server, so it gets installed anyway.

- IMHO there should be copy-pasteable command in this section, such as:

$ sudo apt-get libapache2-mod-mono mono-apache-server

- Some of the above remarks may apply to the Non-Autohosting install instructions, too.

3. There's also a couple of problems that should definitely be included in the Troubleshooting section (because it seems they happen every time you install mod-mono), see: Bug #1308047 and Bug #1293481.

Since you seem to know how it should be changed, it would be great if you could fix it.

Due to the nature of the community help wiki, you can't request changes to it in the form of bug reports.
