Difficulties following email guides. (Postfix/Dovecot)

I'm configuring an email service, and I'm a complete newbie at this. First, I followed the guide at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MailServer

I'm not configuring mail filtering, webmail og mailing lists. Only Mail Transfer Agent and Mail Delivery Agent. The first thing the guide tells me to do, is configure postfix. There is a guide, and I follow it. The next thing, then, is to configure Dovecot. I follow that guide too, until suddenly I read this: «(If you installed Postfix with instructions from the [WWW] previous wiki, then chose mbox.)»...

Problem is, I want to have Maildir. The guide does not tell me why I shouldn't choose Maildir, and it does not explain how I can configure postfix so I can use Maildir.

I told #Ubuntu-docs about this, and mdke gave me another link: https://help.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/serverguide/C/email-services.html

However, I discover it has the same problem, only using different words: «You should configure your Mail Trasport Agent (MTA) to transfer the incoming mail to this type of mailbox if it is different from the one you have configured.»

I still don't know how I can configure postfix correctly. I also think both guides should tell the user to run one command at a time, instead of just copying all of them and pasting.

Confirmed. We need to get someone with some mail server experience to look this over for our next doc release.
