Bug Description

In the xubuntu-jaunty-yelpversion/browser-startpage/img folder there are two image files, headerlogo.png and header.png. It would be great if these could be change to be Xubuntu-specific.

I am attaching the images for developer reference.

I can update the images and the CSS (if needed) to accomplish this. Who will take care that these files *really* end up to Xubuntu Jaunty?

Because these files would be within the Xubuntu documentation, I would be
able to make sure that they were *really* in Xubuntu Jaunty.

Before you actually get started on it, let me run things by Matthew East in
the doc team, though. I'll keep you posted.

Pasi, please proceed with updating the images and CSS to make these changes. Because the files are included in the Xubuntu documentation package, they will be included in Xubuntu 9.04. Thanks!

Making this change would require patching of the ubufox package. Cody, feel free to mark this as invalid if you don't wish to pursue this. This may be something that can be pursued for Xubuntu 9.10, though.

17:34 chrisccoulson: knome, i've spoken to somebody in our legal department regarding startpage modifications for derivatives
17:34 chrisccoulson: basically, the startpage is considered part of the bundle that mozilla have approved us to distribute, and derivatives are free to distribute that too
17:35 chrisccoulson: but modifications to that require approval from mozilla, and that's not the sort of thing that canonical would do on behalf of a derivative
17:36 chrisccoulson: so, basically, you need to talk to somebody from mozilla if you want to change the default start page in xubuntu
17:38 knome: do you have any pointer who on mozilla would that be?
17:39 chrisccoulson: knome, not offhand. i would suggest having a look at http://www.mozilla.org/foundation/trademarks/policy.html
17:39 knome: okay, thanks.
17:40 chrisccoulson: <email address hidden> might be a good start
17:40 knome: if we get a permission from mozilla, where are we then?
17:40 knome: will you be able to help us to fix our start page at that point
17:40 chrisccoulson: yes

It looks like I can't revert the status of this bug. Dave, please revert, because the bug is *not fixed*.

Also, can you please ask #xubuntu-devel first before changing our bug statuses? I haven't seen you around, but expect to, if you start going through our bugs. Thanks.

It looks fixed to me as headerlogo.png and Xubuntulogo.png both have the Xubuntu logo. If I'm looking at the wrong thing, let me know and I'll re-file the bug (and my apologies if that's the case).

This bugs refers to the about:startpage -page in Firefox.

The documentation artwork is going to be updated along with the documentation rewrite (see blueprint at https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/other-q-xubuntu-refresh-offline-documentation), so we don't necessarily need a new bug for that.

Not valid any more, since about:startpage doesn't exist.
