Bug Description

I have tried to install Ubuntu 24.04 multiple times now. At best it fails in the end with completely useless "Something went wrong". The log shows grub-install failed, so that is my best guess of where the problem is, but despite offering option to report this with logs and such, it doesn't actually allow to do that.

Has Ubuntu become what was main reason I wanted to get away from Windows years ago, making obscure errors that doesn't tell anything, making everything "just guess how things works, reboot and restart from clean install"?

Thank you for your bug report Could you add the logs from/var/log/installer after getting the problem or use 'sudo ubuntu-bug ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap' to report the issue (which would automatically include the needed informations)?

I did the exact things and this came up:
dpkg-query: no packages found matching ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap
