Xubuntu installer gives an empty blank window.

Try install xubuntu from iso dated 2024-02-18 01:57
click on Install release -> empty blank window.
sudo apr update && sudo apt upgrade --- ok, many updates applied
refresh ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap to candidate
click on Install release -> empty blank window.

try start from terminal:

 xubuntu@xubuntu:~$ snap run ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap

I tried the bootstrap installer and it went nowhere.
After 38 minutes I gave up, installed ubiquity but that crashed after copying the files at start of installation for which I did file a bug

ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap is NOT ubiquity but a completely different snap:

snap:ubuntu-desktop-bootstrap stable/ubuntu-24.04

The same thing is happening in Ubuntu Cinnamon. Booting to a blank, black screen, which eventually turns white and shows a "Preparing Ubuntu Cinnamon" message, and just sits with a spinner doing its thing. It uses a lot of CPU as well.

So. I try install today the daily version 20240403 too e stuck in "Preparing xubuntu"

Guys, I've been using Ubuntu since 4.10 and I've never had as many problems as I have now after they implemented snaps. Bring back the good old Ubuntu (Debian base) Just getting it off my chest!
