Cannot change alarm sound

On an Aquaris 5, from the Ubuntu touch GUI, with recently OTA-updated Clock app (how do I find out the version?), after selecting an alarm for editing, it shows:

  Sound
  Alarm clock

Touching that gives me a list of sounds with a tick besides ``Alarm clock''; if I then touch for example ``Bliss'', it plays it, and moves the tick there.

Then I touch the ``<'' ``Back'' button in the top-left corner of the screen; the ``Edit alarm'' screen now shows

  Sound
  Alarm clock

again --- no ``Bliss''! Also, if I select ``Sound'' again, the tick is again besides ``Alarm clock''. An actual alarm also sounds the ``Alarm clock'' sound.

(I don't have a SIM card, but I strongly feel that that should be irrelevant.)

Thanks for taking your time to report this.

In order to save the sound you selected as the alarm sound you need to confirm your choice by clicking/tapping "ok" icon in the header on the right hand side. If you just click/tap the "back" button after selecting a sound, the selection is cancelled.

Thank you very much for the prompt explanation! I had only found the option of clicking the alarm to edit it by looking at the UI specification, but found nothing there about the details of changing a sound --- presumably because this is a generic selection mechanism also used elsewhere. (Is it described somewhere in the user guide?) Still --- If I click on the ``OK'' beside ``Bliss'', it only plays it again, so why is the top ``OK'' different? I think that this is nice and lean, but somewhat non-obvious user interface.

A separate ``issue'' close by: If I don't want ``Bliss'', but ``Supreme'', it is actually not so easy to get back to the top bar without accidentally selecting a different alarm sound. I would prefer a local way to commit to ``Supreme'' and return to the ``Edit Alarm'' page --- for example by clicking that ``OK'' besides ``Supreme''.

I'm not sure about the user guide. To be honest I never seen it. You're right about selecting a sound down the list. The header hides when you scroll and 'ok' button is not visible. IMO the header should stay in the same place all the time. Could you please file another bug report about user experience problems with selecting the sound?
