System language is pt_BR, but some strings are in pt

The system language is set to Portuguese (Brazil), however some strings are being displayed in Portuguese (Portugal).

For example, this string is translated in both languages:

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Does this affect the clock app alone or also else where in the system? I would be really curious if you said it is inherent to the clock app alone since we use standard gettext and the system language is set by the system settings app.

So far the only app I can see with this problem is the clock one.

However, I noticed some strings in pt on that intro screen (choose language, password, connect to network, etc), but I am not sure what is the package name in Launchpad to confirm if strings were translated to pt_BR or not.

Just found it, is the unity8 package.

For example, this string was displayed in pt instead of pt_BR on the tour/intro screen:

@tiago, So I talked to few others developers (dobey, dpm) and it seems that gettext automatically falls back to language pt if language pt_BR don't have that string translated. If language pt also doesn't have that string translated, then it appears untranslated. This is also the case for other languages as well like ca, ca@valencia etc..

The strings that you pointed out have been translated, but it hasn't been pushed out as an updated to the store. As a result, your phone running an older build of clock app is defaulting to pt in those cases.

I have requested the Ubuntu QA team to test the latest build of clock v3.3.219 and if approved, it will be released as an update asap.
