Bug Description
I was looking for a new laptop and tried to compare the notebooks found in stores with the certificated notebooks in "http://
But the notebooks that got a certificate can nowhere be found on the internet. Example:
>>The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 0199-22X laptop has been awarded the status of Ready on Ubuntu PC (x86).
>>Certification notes
>>10.10
>>This system is fully ready for Ubuntu.
Steps to reproduce:
Search "Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 0199-22X" with google: the results are only Ubuntu hardware certification and OpenSuse hardware db.
Search "Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 0199-22X" on the amazon.de page: "Ihre Suche nach "Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 0199-22X" ergab leider keine Produkttreffer. " which means no hits.
Steps to fix:
add more information to the certificate. For example:
"Lenovo ThinkPad 0199-22X (also known as ThinkPad XXX, full specification of certified product: ...)"
Changed in ubuntu-certification: | |
status: | New → Won't Fix |
The data listed in this case is given to us by the manufacturer. I seem to be able to find information if I run the same search in Google: www-307. ibm.com/ pc/support/ site.wss/ document. do?lndocid= MIGR-48NT8D& sitestyle= lenovo
http://
Seems from the information that I can find here that the results systems are available for purchase under Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 14".
In general I agree that would be useful to have a link between the certificate listed and where you can buy it. However this is not a feature offered by our website at the moment.
