Repeating alarm notification before event starts

Bug Description
When setting a reminder for an event, the notification alarm triggers 4 times in total: on the specified time before the event (as expected) and 3 times after that, every 5 minutes. I think the notification alarm should ring only once (at the specified time) by default and not be repeated multiple times.
Tested for reminders set to 15 min, 30 min and 1 hour before event: they all trigger the alarm 4 times.
Suggested fix: please make an option to set 'repeat notification alarm' explicitly during creation of event. Otherwise set the 'repeat' command to '0' for ALL reminders by default – why bother the user with repeated notifications if they cannot be canceled (unless the event is deleted from calendar).
Note: I am aware that OTA 10 will enable calendar notifications in the notification pulldown menu but I found no info on notification repetition.
Using BQ Aquaris 4.5 / OTA 9 / calendar 0.4.757
Thanks!
