Bug Description

I have two Google accounts set up, each with a primary calendar and a couple of shared calendars. The calendar app is only syncing the primary calendars of each account.

Same here

this is a known limitation of the initial sync support. Additional code needs to be added to support multiple calendars.

i think it should be resolved by following branch.

lp:~pkunal-parmar/ubuntu-calendar-app/CalManagementlp:ubuntu-calendar-app

it allows user to select to which calendar event should sync with.

Jelmer Prins (justcarakas) wrote :

Kunal Parmar, I asked it but the calendar app just receives the possible calendars from the online accounts, the calendar app doesn't ask Google what calendars there are, it just gets the main calendar so it is online accounts that needs to fix this

Jelmer Prins (justcarakas) wrote :

any update on this ?

This is a bug on sync-monitor its only sync the default google calendar. and does not return the name of all available calendars.

Sorry but this will not be fixed for RMT.

Unreliable or no sync with google calendar has been an issue for me for some images now. Pressing "Synchronise" changes that menu item to "Synchronizing" (and stays like that forever), but nothing seems to sync...

Tomas Öqvist (tomoqv) wrote :

My #7 comment seems to be invalid after switching to RTM. However, I sometimes get the error message ”Failed to sync...” with my google calendar account.

Jelmer Prins (justcarakas) wrote :

Any update on when we get more than the default google calendar, they recently mentioned it on ubuntu-on-air that this was fixed but I still only have the default calendar

Jelmer Prins (justcarakas) wrote :

I now have to use the google calendar webapp everytime because I have multiple calendars that I use so even though I want I can't use the beautiful calendar app

Importance: Wishlist - does that mean this has not a very high priority?

For me this bug is the only thing that keeps me away from using my ubuntu phone as my real and only phone.
Without beeing able to see my work events the calender is of not much use...

Is there any timeframe for this? This bug is soon one year old.
This should have a much higher priority in my opinion.

I totally agree

I can't sync my primary gmail calendar on your core Calendar app. Not just secondary calendars. I recently installed a Calendar update and today I installed an Ubuntu update that mentioned something about a Calendar fix. Still can't sync. I would have thought that this is a basic enough requirement.

Contacts sync okay.

I need it to be able to sync with works office365 calendar.

Any activity on this?

And I still can't use the calendar because of this

tags: added: vivid

Since a few days, the calendar app does not sync any longer to my primary Google calendar -- it syncs to one of the secondary ones! (And only to that one.) This is even worse than only syncing the primary calendar.
I have no idea what caused the change, nor how I can influence which of the calendars is synced.

@renato
can syncevolution (the backend we use for calendar syncing) support syncing all the calendars and not just the default calendar?

Tomas Öqvist (tomoqv) wrote :

As one of the core PIM applications on the Ubuntu Phone, I believe the calendar app really needs some developer love! It seems the syncing issues are still plaguing this essential app. For me, syncing my default google calendar seems to work, although I have to initiate the sync automatically from within the app. The other google account I am trying to sync doesn't work at all. I have had some success following the initial setup of the google user account, but after that, no sync. Pressing sync from the menu leaves the the sync circle arrow in the meny greyed out until a reboot. No error messages that sync is not working.

Wouldn't it be possible to use another backend, like the one used for syncing google contacts? For me, and apparantly many others judging from the number of users subscribing to this bug report, the calendar is an essential functionality on a smartphone. Getting this right would mean a lot for the platform, which is getting more and more awesome!

What reason could you possibly have for not delivering on it

Hans-Peter (hanspeterg) wrote :

Maybe somebody should tell product management that the topic of this bug doesn't cover the whole story. As holidays calendars are implemeted as shared calendars in google+, we don't have holidays in our calendar app. For me, it is all about the holidays calendar.
I can't believe that someone decides to make calendar app a default app without holidays support! I won't show my phone to anyone until this is implemented. I would be laughed at.
