Tapping on a day in week view does not do anything

Bug #1291504 reported by Vincent on 2014-03-12

Ubuntu Calendar App

Bug Description

When viewing the week, swiping horizontally allows me to switch weeks. However, intuitively I would expect tapping a day's date would also bring up that day - which it doesn't.

Hmm, with the changed behaviour (switching weeks when swiping the days, which in itself feels very unintuïtive), I'd also expect swiping the week to switch weeks. In fact, I think that would be expected anyways.

Or maybe even reconsider whether there's a need for the week view, at least in a small window, as it hardly provides more information than the day view. (Although that might be planned.)

(Not sure that this the right thing to do/ the right place to put this info). I'm going to take a look at this as little introductory project. I'll set myself as assigned just so no one else starts working on it.

(Sorry if I am supposed to ask before assigning myself bugs, or changing things on this page).

Vincent, I think there was some confusion here, rather than changed behaviour: swiping on the week view always switched weeks and will continue to do so.

In terms of the need for the week view, it is quite useful as an overview of all the events you've got in the week. Try adding some events to a week and you'll see it in action, it's quite cool! :)

Ah, I'm sorry, I was confused then. Although it's also interesting to see where the confusion arised from: with no events added this week, it looked like the week view only showed a single day below the date heading. I'm guessing this happened because it _looks_ the same; without events, there's nothing visually separating the days apart from the heading. And although the date of today was highlighted, I thought that meant that I had selected that day as opposed to today _being_ that day.

Obviously the week view is useful then. Apart from going to day view when clicking a separate day, I then still also expect to switch weeks when swiping the dates.
