Bug Description

The Inkscape palette file that is available on design.c.com is defective. It must have been broken while saving or something.

A more in depth explanation of the problem here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/80864/why-doesnt-inkscape-recognize-the-ubuntu-color-palettes

As my answer says I have re-saved it in a proper format, added a readme file explaining the installation process and compressed it into a tar.gz which can be downloaded from the attachments.

The current archive should be replaced with my fixed version. It's current location is here: http://design.canonical.com/the-toolkit/ubuntu-logo-and-circle-of-friends/

The direct link to the file is here: http://design.canonical.com/brand/Tools/colour_palettes/gimp_palettes.zip

This should have been a 2-minute job, simply overwriting a new copy of the file by logging into Wordpress. It appears that the index in Wordpress has got out of step.

The file exists, but isn't in the Media Library index. Two obvious options:

  a. Hopefully it's possibly by SSHing into the webserver, and just overwriting that for the moment (with the contents re-saved as a .zip rather than tarball, to avoid the filename change
  b. Upload a new file. Update the post to talk to it.

@paul, We need to use a different method to access that asset. It is not via wordpress. As you can see there is a little application to browse folders of assets: http://design.canonical.com/brand/

Yes, it's an Apache Alias for that directory, which was created by way of RT #40304.

  Alias /brand /srv/design-brand/www

so these assets need updating using SFTP.
