Bug Description

There is a never-ending supply of devices that can be coupled to a mobile device via Bluetooth, WiFi, etc. and need the ability to do processing in the background on the phone. This includes:

- Smartwatches, there is any combination between "all the processing runs on the phone" to "only some things are processed on the phone"

- Fitness trackers that sync their data to the phone in the background

- Bluetooth devices that do something when events happen on the phone, e.g. a notification or a call comes in

- Send an event to the phone that triggers something (e.g. the https://flic.io/ smart WiFi button)

The possibilites are pretty much endless.

I actually have a use case: I would like to create an app to control the Aina PTT device (www.aina-wireless.com) and that would require me to route voice (both speaker and microphone) in the background over BT.
