On which pages would you like to see this? The main blog page for someone? The page for everyone? RSS feeds?

The page for everyone!
It could be implemented in user blogs and rss too.
I've posted a ticked for this on http://elgg.org/trac too.

Apologies. :) I missed that in the title.

Yes, it definitely sounds like something that would be best served
upstream. Thanks for telling me; I've associated the two bugs here.

I've found that this could be done adding :
{{blogsummary:10}}
in the template homepage, where 10 stands for the number of posts

Except that this hasn't worked in our testing; it simply does nothing. And, as far as I know, that doesn't work for the everyone.php page, does it?

I've added {{blogsummary:10}} in mod/template/templates/Default_Template/frontpage_loggedin , this did the trick.
When users login , they can automatically see the latest posts.
I think everyone.php is not customizable.
Here some other keywords:

The blogsummary tag didn't work for me, and yes, it's unavailable on the everyone page. Perhaps the necessary code could be copied into the everyone page (or maybe just ours?).
