Bug Description

I registered with my old(wrong) email-adress in ubuntu-one. Now I changed my adress in my launchpad-account, but the email adress in the ubuntu one account is still the same (old) one. I can't find any way to correct my email adress or to delete the ubuntu one account to recreate one with the correct adress.

edit: Maybe the e-mail adress has changed automatically (no possibility to check this), but the "unique name" in the launchpad account, which I have also changed, is still the old one in the ubuntu one account.

Have you tried logging-out and then logging-in again to Ubuntu One?

Yes, I also tried to logout and login again in launchpad and after that logging-in again in Ubuntu One.
Nothing changed.

also have similar problem. I have 2 launchpad accounts. I associated ubuntuone with the wrong account. I was not able to associate it with the right account. Also completely uninstalled and reinstalled and still don't get the "add this computer" screen.
I also removed this computer from the old account and I have no way of adding it again to the old account.
I can't find a way to get connected again. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, manually deleting the ubuntuone folders and I still can't connect it to either of the accounts.

I just changed my email address in launchpad and the same change took place in ubuntu one after I logged out and logged back in. I also logged out of launchpad, but I am not sure if that's what caused it.

An easy way to change this is to go to https://login.launchpad.net/ and change your primary email address.

There are a number of comments on this bug describing a different problem when users sign into ubuntuone.com with the wrong openid account. This is an unrelated problem to this issue and should and has been reported in other bugs.

Hi John O'Brien,

sorry but what you have tested is not the same I described in my bug-report. Maybe I was not clear enough with:

"[...] but the "unique name" in the launchpad account, which I have also changed, is still the old one in the ubuntu one account"

=> I have changed my email address AND my _unique name_ in launchpad. You have only changed your email address which may be not enough to trigger the bug I reported.

"jdobrien" is your unique launchpad username for example.

Very intersting is that my ubuntu one account still works with my new launchpad username (I can login through the new launchpad openid) but the old unique username is displayed inside ubuntu one (above "View Files | My Account") and the wrong old email address which I used with my old unique name is used in ubuntu one.

So the bug does really exist and is not invalid.

After reviewing the user's comments. The problem exists on our site when a user has entered a Nickname in launchpad that cannot be split into two parts. In this case, the non unique username provided by our Launchpad OpenID provider is displayed.

This will be marked duplicate of this bug as soon as I can find it.
