This is actually caused by some new code in the new version of Twisted that has some Python 3 support, that the new version of pygobject apparently breaks. There are probably appropriate fixes that need to be done in both of those packages as well. I'm gathering some information about the problem, and will re-assign as appropriate.

This bug was fixed in the package twisted - 12.3.0-1ubuntu4

dobey, updating to the latest raring has solved this on my two laptops, but I am still getting the IPCError on my nexus7.
