I've installed this morning the current version (4.0.0.beta3~bzr60~oneiric1) and I have no error.

Could you confirm that please ?

It is fixed in beta3 (I get from bzr), but the last "public" version (in the download section from https://launchpad.net/tuxtremsplit) beta2 has the problem :)
