Initially, code that was merged was found at
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/166506/finding-local-ip-addresses-using-pythons-stdlib (all code that being posted there can be used under Apache 2.0)
But after research was found that this code was initially posted at
http://code.activestate.com/recipes/439094-get-the-ip-address-associated-w/
and it can't be used under Apache 2.0

No fix was ever 'committed' for this issue. The change proposed was abandoned and a subsequent change in the same area did not list this bug (change comments, Closes-Bug). As such, I am reverting "Fix Committed".
