Bug Description

I found this plugin for Trac: http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/SubversionLocationPlugin and like this idea very much. Will be very nice to port it for Bazaar.

This plugin works with Trac 0.11 only, but it's possible to use with 0.10 as well. See wikirename plugin to get idea how to add items to mini-navbar.

I don't qite see the application. For subversion, each file in the tip revision of the repository is accessible via http / webdav, so you can have a link that opens in the browser, shows the document in question, and that you then can copy to subversion clients in order to e.g. check out a diretory.

In trac, individual files in a branch aren't accessible via a http url at all. You only have a url to the branch as a whole. And the branch directory itself is usually empty except for a hidden .bzr subdirectory which gets accessed by clients. In some setups, there is a working tree alongside the branch, but on web servers that probably won't be that common, might be outdated, and I see little benefit over the view the Trac browser provides.

What I could imagine might be useful would be some kind of branch checkout instructions. So whenever you browser the root directory of a branch, or maybe any file within that branch, you could display a box giving users the command required to checkout or clone that branch. Would you consider that to be suitable?

There might be possible connections between this request and bug 199629: when Trac itself provides (authorization-dependent) access for bzr clients, then the corresponding URL would be known to Trac and should be used for any such links or instructions.
