Bug Description

I recently switched from ubuntu 11.04 to xubuntu 11.10 and noticed that after resuming from a suspend the touchpad works again even though the icon still has a red x on it. Unplugging and plugging the mouse makes it disabled again, however.

I confirm the issue, on "regular ubuntu" (not xubuntu) 11.10 in my case .
Note I've installed the latest version after the upgrade to 11.10.

Not only the touchpad is reenabled after resuming (though the mouse is still plugged in and though the red cross icon is still shown) but also the shortcut to disable it does not work. Only way of disabling it again is unplug and replug the mouse.

I confirm this issue too.

Go to tty1 (press Ctrl+Alt+F1) then back to X (press Ctrl+Alt+F7) produces the same problem. Touchpad come enable while icon still has a red X on it.

Unpluggin and plugging mouse make it works again.
