Bug Description
The option which is available in the preferences in the app is not working properly and the touchpad is still active while I type, that is I move my cursor to a different position by accidentally touching the mousepad(touchpad) while typing on my laptop running Ubuntu 16.04LTS

Hi, I'm also affected: .04.3-src.
I had a recent update of some components of ubuntu 16.04 on my dell inspiron 1500 notebook. Before, touchpad-indicator worked perfectly and was set to permanently disable the touchpad (using a shortkey for enabling it when necessary). After the update, the touchpad was permanently enabled and I have no chance to disable it using the touchpad indicator (neither via shortkey nor via context menu nor the setting disabling at startup nor disabling while typing works).
Used version of touchpad-indicator: 1.1.0-0extras15
