Bug Description

Here we are again. At each upgrade of Ubuntu, launchpad-indicator stops working.

I've upgraded to Precise, and now I can't enable my touchpad any more.

Touchpad indicator shows the message "touchpad disabled" , "touchpad enabled" when I enable/disable it either with the shortcut or with the menu, but nothing else happens: the touchpad stays always disabled.

I am running Precise on an HP Probook 4535 with synaptics touchpad and it works for me.
"disable when mouse is plugged in" sometime blocks my touchpad until Iogout, though.

So if you use that feature, it could be the source of your trouble.

I don't remember what I did but now it's working.

Except for the "disable when mouse is plugged in" which has _never_ worked properly but that's another issue. I never enabla that feature because the way it works it's useless.
