Bug Description
Doing
adb shell setprop sys.usb.config rndis,adb
on the Nexus 4 running Ubuntu touch enables the usb0 interface, which can be used for forward/reverse tethering.
I use it for reverse tethering, by ssh'ing into the phone and doing
sudo dhclient usb0 -v
(I setup the desktop pc to share the connection with other PCs)
This should be handled by NetworkManager automatically, but NetworkManager does not notice the usb0 device. nmcli dev shows:
DEVICE TYPE STATE
wlan0 802-11-wireless disconnected
After I restart /etc/init.
Attached is a /var/log/syslog of a fresh reboot. I did
adb shell setprop sys.usb.config rndis,adb
at Mar 3 18:56:41 in the log.

syslog entries after doing
sudo restart network-manager
which lead to a working connection
