Bug Description

Hello developers. Sometimes, while I'm testing and looking for bugs, I found the bugs I submitted is the previous ISO bugs. Can you please provide us information about everything new update got and what is the known bugs. It's sometimes make you(devs) confused of bugs submitted, and to testers that don't know much what is happening in development of ToriOS. I hope this wishlist will be fulfilled, since I believe it will be more easier and convenient to both devs and tester. Thanks.

* I suggest to name every update with a specific version number..like torios-0.5.7, torios.-0.5.17.., torios-0.5.34...etc.

* Provide a link or a page that (current mailing list could do) for log of updates and upgrades of new ISO.

* or just make a new team special for testing, and testers can subscribe mailing list to anything related to bugs and stuff.

I just hope the best for ToriOS, and keep going! ToriOS is really made a big improvement today!

Thanks to all of you especially Israel Dahl and Nio Wiklund!

Hi,
You could always provide the apt-cache policy of the package you are reporting on.

apt-cache policy jwm-settings-manager
or
apt-cache policy torios-core

we also have:
torios-desktop
torios-plymouth
fladduser
torios-apthandler
obi-installer
mkusb
torios-live

Our ISO files are listed by date as well on Phill's server.

All the system startup scripts are located in torios-desktop

all the settings/themes and menu scripts are in jwm-settings-manager

That said... I may need to simply post a brief changelog to the list, at least to let people know what package versions to look for. I will try to remember to do this.

Thanks for the information. Now I don't need to blind-testing ISO again. ^^

I'll do my best to work on this personally on the future. Due to lack of manpower + real life + other projects, we have very limited time working on other stuff but YES, what you mentioned is very important so thank you for that.

I assigned this to myself and will work on it hopefully in the future with ToriOS Developers and the rest of the team :)

Hi.

I extended this issue with my proposal here - https://lists.launchpad.net/torios/msg02637.html
It seems the current release pattern for stable release will be like 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0, 2.5+

So instead of making the release like 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 1.10 and so on, I think releasing them in the pattern as 1.5.1, 1.5.2, 1.5.3.. will be better as a sign of "this new version is for the stable release".

Also, I see a big advantage for targeting features incrementally. (what a tester should expect to be fixed in current release, known bugs for this release, and what bugs/features will be worked on in the next *minor* release.)

no longer affects: torios/torios-1.0
