My friends are online and able to whisper to me but I see them as offline

My friends list is not working properly... they can whisper to me but... their not showing up as online to me..... they are all off line to me... what is going on?? Please let me know ASAP... thank you for your time in this matter.. have a nice day and happy tooning :)
