It affects me too. In my BQ 4.5. Annoying bug, really... Sometimes after 5-10 reloads I can see all information. But sometimes is impossible.

Hi, and sorry you are having this issue.

Can people please provide the version of the Today scope that displays this issue?

You can get this in terminal as follows:
phablet@ubuntu-phablet:~$ click list | grep dashboard
com.canonical.scopes.dashboard 4.7.0

Hi Gandolf0333,

We have 4.7 version to be delivered in ota11 soon. That fixes a very similar issue that may have the same root cause, so let's see if the problem goes away then.

Hi Kyle,
due to another bug I switched to rc-proposed. I can test it as soon the fix is integrated. Just tell me.

Hi Gandolf...
Now that ota11 is released, do you have a 4.7.x version of today scope installed?
In terminal try:
$ click list | grep dashboard

And please report the output here.

cheers

Hi everybody,

I've the excat same issue and I've 4.7.0 on my Meizu Pro 5.

Often, I've only the top part, the date (+ sun/moon schedules) and the rest disappears.

Can you please provide the /home/phablet/.cache/upstart/scope-registry.log file?

Please note: yesterday (7 Jul) an issue was reported that can cause partial results. basically if an incoming result does not have the art/image in the expected attribute, the code checks other attributes for the image. This sometimes caused an exception and partial results. Some news child scopes often provide such malformed results. The fix for this is in process.

The exception you would see in the scope-registry.log is:

[2016-07-07 14:02:05.651] ERROR: com.canonical.scopes.news_unity-scope-news: ReplyObject::push(): ReplyObject::push(VariantMap): unity::LogicException: Variant does not contain a string value:

Hi Kyle,
unfortunately my mx4 broke a few weeks ago, therefore I can't do any testing anymore :-(

This is INCREDIBLE. Last month, Today Scope ran well, not perfectly, but acceptably. But after OTA 12 is absolutely unuseful. Neither in Bq 4.5 nor in Bq M10. After 10 times scrolling down, if I get lucky I could have some information. But normally, only shows me one image of Weather Cast. No last calls, no messages, and, of course, no news and no twitters. Please, fix it, cause this is the MORE IMPORTANT Scope of the phone or tablet...

Hey LlamasJM,

I am really sorry you are having this problem.

There are I think two possible causes:
* The location is not yet determined, some child scopes (like news, holidays) may not provide results.

* As I mentioned in comment 11 above, a bug was found that can cause partial results: https://bugs.launchpad.net/today-scope/+bug/1599948

While this bug was fixed on July 13, this was too late for OTA 12.
