Bug Description

One fifth of the height of the today scope is used to show me the date. Once I check it in the morning I remember it mostly. So I think the space should be accessible for more important stuff, like todos, calendar entries etc.

My suggestion: make the icon smaller.

Sunset and sunrise could go in a separate line. It's nice to see but for me it has no practical meaning so once I need the space I would chuck it out.

Hi, and thanks for the ideas!

I agree it takes a lot of space. One way to handle this would be to split the functionality into two child scopes:

Day: This would have a smaller icon (a "mascot" in technical terms) on the left and the text to the right would show only Month, Day or week, and Week number.

DayDetails: This would have additional info, such as sunrise, sunsent, phase of moon.

Because theses are independent child scopes, a user could enable/disable them from scope settings independently.

Note that if we only make the icon smaller, the day result still takes up a lot of room. And the text to the right does not seem to fit. see attached.

Changed in today-scope:
importance: Undecided → Wishlist

If the icon was a slight bigger and the text made smaller is say you pretty much nailed it and the weather icons smaller you would be able to see your favourite contacts - that would be perfect

Yes: But note that scopes work only with a given set of somewhat abstract GUI widgets and designs. We don't have the technical capability inside a scope to simply increase an icon size and decrease text size. It will require some evaluation to determine whether there is a different layout that might work better.
