Bug Description

Depending on were I am and what I'm into, I'm using different apps. The today scope could show the apps used lately. This could, for me, be a reason to set it as startpage again right now it's the application lens.

This data is tracked by Ubuntu App Launch as each application is paused and resumed even. If you look at ubuntu-app-usage you just need to change the query there to be today instead of all time. You can also, probably most usefully, query most likely to use today instead of most used.
