Bug Description

My kids use LXDE. After the configured time, they get logged out. But the message that should pop-up and remind/warn to save does not display.
Please advise how to get the message displayed for LXDE.

(NOTE: This is not my bug report, I am just linking the question because it seems as a possible bug)

Hi, we never claimed it works for lxde. Maybe in the future :-)

LTSmash, could you tell me if this makes a notification pop up in LXDE:
notify-send --icon=gtk-dialog-warning --urgency=critical -t 3000 "test-title" "test-message"

What distro are you using? Or is it normal Ubuntu with LXDE added?

As Savvas stated, LXDE is not supported. But I might find a way to add it if you run the command above (and it works!)

I have committed a fix for this bug. It is included in revision 279. You can find the source of timekpr-client.py here:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~timekpr-maintainers/timekpr/trunk/revision/279

Beware, LXDE is still not supported, it only works! Timekpr-client now uses a default method of notifying an unknown/unsupported DE. This method works in LXDE, at least it did in Lubuntu.

Changed in timekpr:
assignee: nobody → Even Nedberg (nedberg)
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Fix Committed
