On a dual monitor setup, If you have thunderbird open on your "main" screen the new message notifications always appear on the opposite screen (Lower corner).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open thunderbird
2.Leave it open to retrieve new mail
3.When a new message comes in, the notification pop-up will be on the opposite monitor.
Actual Results:
Notification appeared on opposite monitor. The one firefox was not running on.

Expected Results:
Notification appears on same monitor firefox is opened on.

Same happens for Firefox's messages, e.g. "update to one of your add-ons" and "downloads complete"

+1 for this issue. For me it happens on Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10 with Thunderbird 17.x. Essentially, all pop-up dialogs happen on monitor 1 when Thunderbird is running on monitor 2. Other programs do not have this problem.

Happens in TB 24.1.0 here as well both on a dual and a triple head setup. The notification windows appears on the left-most opposite screen.

On my laptop and LSD monitor, Fedora 20, Thunderbird 24.3.0.
All notification(skype, FireTray extension & etc) on VGA1 monitor then I set "xrandr --output VGA1 --primary". But main Thunderbird notification still on opposite LVDS1 output monitor.

The bug is still here (45.6.0) and it's very annoying. My left monitor is usually in fullscreen mode, so I miss notifications about new mail.

In fact, it may be a corrupted preference or so... My dual-screen configuration has not changed for years but the problem appeared recently, sometimes after the v60 upgrade. It may be connected to the fact that I moved TB to the secondary screen once but since then, I never managed to get the dialogs (not only right-click menu but reply and edit (message) buttons) appearing on the right (main) screen (where TB main window is) after connecting the second screen (without restarting TB). The only workaround I found is to restart TB after disconnecting the screen: then it works fine until I reconnect the second screen.

No that doesn't help.
I see the same thing for web notifications in Firefox, so bug 1450036 is related (newmailalert.js is kind of a fork of the same code)
