Bug Description

if there are new messages in Thunderbird, they are shown in the indicator with the corresponding mailbox(folder) but if clicking on that mailbox in indicator nothing happens, but it should take me to the mailbox with the new mail and select the first new unread mail.

Thank you for your bug report. Is that still an issue? Is thunderbird not opening or just being placed to background?

Still an issue on 13.10 :
- have thunderbird opened and in the background
- have a notification in messaging menu and clic on it

What happens : launcher icon shakes but Thunderbird stay in background
What is expected : (launcher icon shakes) and Thunderbird comes in front of other windows showing the 1st new message.

I think this is related to this bug I filled years ago :

I just figured out that if you clic on Thunderbird icon in messaging-menu (and not on the notification) everything is OK : Thunderbird pops up.

We're tracking the issue that windows stay in the background in bug #1047809.

Assigning this bug to thunderbird, as that should open the right window in response to clicking an account menu item.

affects: indicator-messages → thunderbird
