Bug Description
Right now, as far as I'm aware, to be able to, e.g., set up synchronization between google contacts and thunderbird via Thunderbird EDS Contacts Integration, one has to have Evolution installed to be able to add the google account to e-d-s. Considering that TB should be a replacement for evolution, this kinda defeats the purpose. :-/
Desired behaviour:
Be able to fully administrate contacts and contact sync from within thunderbird.
Alternatively, find a way to administrate e-d-s with and external tool, without having evolution installed. This could also be relevant for the supposedly (mentioned at UDS?) coming calendar (sync) integration in Ubuntu.
Relevant projects: Maybe python-evolution is a relevant package for this.
Desription: This package contains modules that allows to talk with the evolution
data server to manipulate the address book and calendar in Python.
