It tries to open my files with emacs even when I've set view_file to something else

Bug Description

I've got a setting in my personal config file that it should use a different editor, not the default which is emacs. In the dynamic gui, failed test result, I right click on a file and select "view file" and it correctly opens it in my editor. If I instead select "edit file" then it doesn't open the file. I get a message in the bottom left corner that says "Started emacs xxx.xxx in background (from test yyy)".

I get a similar error when I create a new definition file in the static gui. It creates the file and then I get an error dialog saying it's unable to open it in emacs.

I don't have emacs installed so it's rather irritating that it keeps trying to use it....
