Unresponsible to toggle on under Unity

I am using Ubuntu 1310 with Unity desktop and Terra 0.1.7. This problem has existed in previous versions of both Unity and Terra.

Terra loads fine and works fine but when I hit F12 to toggle the terminal back into view it sometimes doesn't appear at all until I press the left mouse or F12 a few times.

You can test this by toggling the window on and off a few times. After a few times the window fails to reappear quickly.

This also happens when I haven't used the terminal for a while in the Ubuntu session. Sometimes it feels like it fails to loads then you click the mouse somewhere and the terminal pops into view. A setting in Unity might help maybe?

I have tried disabling "Fading Windows" plugin within Compiz settings manager and it seems to alleviate the problem.

Although it helps it still takes upto 2-3 seconds to launch the screen. I think it is a problem with Unity or Compiz though. I had the same issue with Guake when i used to use that.
