Bug Description

Terminator 0.96
Gnome 3.2 on Fedora 16 (RC5)

Set up and save a split layout in the preferences dialog.
Launch terminator from command: terminator --layout=tterm

The window that displays retains the geometry of the layout, but doesn't show the split.
The split is still there, just not properly rendered. i.e. if you type: exit in the window, it will close one of the terminals, leaving the other, but its appearance doesn't change.

Included debug info in separate file: terminator -d --layout=tterm 2> tterm_debug.txt

Not sure if this is a bug related to Gnome, or in terminator. Let me know if there's any other info I can provide that might help.

Thanks,
Sak.

Is this rendering the splits with 0 width perhaps? I'm not sure there is much relevant information in the logging.

Hey Chris,

I think you're right, in that it may have something to do with the separator size setting. Here are some tests I performed today. For each test, I set aside the config file in ~/.config/terminator/ to get a default starting setup each time.

Luanch terminator
Open preferences, leave separator size set at -1.
Close preferences.
Drag window size to 160x48.
Split vertically.
Select right side, split horizontally. (A window with 3 terminals is created.)
Open preferences, select Layout tab and add new layout, named tterm.
Close preferences.
Close main window, and confirm closing all terminals.
In gnome terminal, launch with: terminator -d --layout=tterm

The default separator size setting works fine, and all three terminals appear. After setting aside that config file, and starting fresh, I follow all of the above steps again exactly, but this time set separator size at 0. When I launch with the custom layout it bugs.

Now, what's interesting, is that on a third attempt, I follow the same exact steps, but set the separator size to "1" or any increment above zero. It always defaults back to zero for me.. Another bug?

Hope that helps. Let me know if there's anything else I can do.

Sak.

Super old bug, and not reproducible that I've seen. Reopen if is still occurs on 0.97 or trunk, but marking Invalid it now due to age.
