Terminator GTK3 Sometimes Isn't Transparent on Startup

Sometimes when I start Terminator the background isn't transparent and I need to quit it and restart it. It's hard to use the -d option because it seems to happen intermittently.

bzr branch tells me:
Tree is up to date at revision 1779 of branch

I'm not too familiar with bzr, but I assume that is the latest code.

Using i3 with compton on Slackware 14.2.
