Bug Description

I am running Terminator 0.98 on Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS.

I have been using Terminator for a year or two and I really like it except for one bug I'm having:

When I open the Terminator terminal for the first time after booting my machine, as soon as I alt-tab away from it (or just click away), it disappears. I try to come back to it and it has gone, and any work I was doing has gone with it. I often have to recover the file etc..

Once this has happened the first time, then I reopen and everything will be fine for the rest of the session.

I should also add that this has been happening for many months now, it
hasn't just appeared. Maybe a year or more.

Hi Paul, I'm the maintainer. The wax miguel account looks kinda spammy when I look at his contributions, so don't be surprised if that comment is the entirety of their contribution.

One possibility is that you accidentally activated "Hide on lose focus" in the Global tab of the Preferences dialog. Check it and disable it if it is checked.

In case this is not the answer, 0.98 is pretty old now and I'm not doing any further changes. I'd strongly recommend you try the nightly PPA as it is much more up-to-date.

Ugh! Would you believe English is my mother tongue?

"Ensure this item is unchecked."

Thank you for responding.

Hide on lose focus is indeed unchecked :)

I'll give the newer stuff a shot, thank you!

This is still happening for me.
At first I thought terminator crashed, but I can see its PID and it's still running in the background.
I'm running terminator 1.91 on Linux Mint 20.

"Hide on lose focus" is of course unticked in the settings, and never was.
