window name does not update

I have Ubuntu 16.04 and installed terminator from the official repositories, so I use terminator 0.98.

I attached the verbose output and config file to the ticket.

Max, the line in your config:
      title = max@ThinkPad-T440s: ~

This is hard setting the window title. You need to delete this line to get the path updating in the window title. Note that it is not possible to have a custom title that contains the path updating as you change directories.

What is weird: I don't recall setting the title in the settings (is that
even possible?), so it must've done that by itself.

Yes, there's a shortcut to set the window title. By default it is Super+W. Emptying the edit field removes the forced value, and reverts to using the current prompt value.
