Bug Description

I just started testing the gtk3 version (based on the instructions at https://gnometerminator.blogspot.com/2015/09/so-you-want-to-try-terminator-gtk3.html

The first thing I notice is that there is no longer an option to do a background image for a profile. I hope this option will be added back in.

Yes. Unfortunately one of the libvte developers decided that backgrounds were unnecessary and decided to remove the overhead somewhere after the last gtk2 version of libvte. There's nothing we can do about that removal as it is their project to decide for.

At some point I intend to restore the background, plus more! I even have a primitive proof of concept that shows a background in gtk3 using cairo surfaces behind a transparent vte widget. I would warn however that there could be some level of overhead doing it like this.

milestone: none → 2.1
