The issue was due to that I was not using a compositor, kali's debian testing-based repos are also fine.
In 3.6.9, (MIGHTY RAVENDARK!!!), transparency worked without a compositor. (Pseudo-transparency, I assume?).
Now, adding `compton --backend glx --paint-on-overlay --glx-no-stencil --vsync opengl-swc --unredir-if-possible` to my startup, everything works well.
