Holding Ctrl+Shift+X makes all terminals unresponsive to keyboard input. Shortcuts still work (i.e. splitting windows) but cannot type in terminals

Bug Description

Environment:
Lubuntu - lxde
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 15.04
Release: 15.04
Codename: vivid
Linux 3.19.0-25-generic #26~14.04.1 SMP Tue Aug 11 21:00:44 BST 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

terminator --version
terminator 0.97

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open terminator
2) Split the window (Ctrl+Shift+O)
3) Press and hold Ctrl+Shift+X

The terminal appears to hang for a while, depending on how long step 3 was held for. After it starts responding to window resizes, none of the terminals accept keyboard input.

Opening new terminals in the session, the problem remains.

Cannot reproduce the issue terminator -d. Output attached.

That's an incredibly old version of Terminator, that will not see any updates now. You need to install the 0.98 version and retest. I just tried your steps with that version, and had no issue.

Ah right, wasn't aware it was quite so incredibly old.
Will give it an update tomorrow and let you know if it solves it. 0.97 is the default from the ubuntu repos

Updated to the new version. Same problem.
I also tried the steps to reproduce on my home version yesterday and I couldn't.
Must be something underlying terminator.

OK, I could never reproduce this, and still can't. Now I've moved my focus to the gtk3 version. Not sure if you still experience this on the original system with an up to date version of terminator, but I can't think of a way to progress this.

Do you mind if I close this, as it was an anomaly unique to that one system?

Yeah, no worries. I'm about to kill that VM for good as I'm changing jobs.
I do still occasionally see it, but have been very careful about not holding the Ctrl+Shift+X for long.
I may be able to gut the contents of the VM and upload it to dropbox, if you want to have a go at seeing what the issue was? I imagine the interest level is fairly low, but I personally like to get to the root of problems ;)
Let me know, if not then just close it =) Cheers for the help.

I looked at slimming down the VM image, but it was a couple of hundred gigs, and the effort involved seemed unreasonable. Please feel free to close this bug :).
