Bug Description

Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS
Terminator 0.97

Hitting ctrl+alt+t starts the terminator, but the unity icon shows 'Root Terminal'

Checking:
$ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.default-applications.terminal exec
I get value 'x-terminal-emulator' (instead of 'terminator' I guess) so even though the terminator appears and works fine, the unity icon shows that 'Root Terminal' has opened.

The easy fix in my case was to use this command:
$ gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.default-applications.terminal exec 'terminator'
after which ctrl+alt+t is behaving as when running terminator from the dash.

NOTE: I have isntalled terminator some time ago using Ubuntu Software Center.

PS: Maybe this is not a bug but intended, but it is unusual for someone switching from GNOME terminal to see that ctrl+alt+t opens one thing, and manually starting a terminal from the dash opens another.

Hi Alija, pretty sure I fixed this as part of fixing 1067287

I'm going to mark this as a duplicate of that one, and as fix committed (rev. 1628).

Hi. Thanks for the fix. I have not checked yet and cannot do at the moment, but I am pleased to hear it should be resolved now.
