Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? What iso are you trying to record? That works fine for me. What mimetype is displayed for the .iso from the nautilus properties you get with the right click menu option?

I'm using dapper (nautilus 2.14.0-0ubuntu3 and shared-mime-info 0.17-0ubuntu2) and I was trying to burn ubuntu-5.10-install-i386.iso. Nautilus show's it's mime type as application/x-executable but it shows dsl-2.0.iso (Damn Small Linux) as application/x-cd-image. If I double click on either image, the archive manager (file-roller IIRC) is opened.

I've started downloading that CD on my box and it's detected as application/x-cd-image. What architecture do you use? Could you attach the start of the by doing "dd if=ubuntu-5.10-install-i386.iso of=cd.iso count=500 bs=1024"?

I'm using a celeron (i686). I checked the md5sum of the iso and it matches http://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/pub/ubuntu-iso/CDs/5.10/MD5SUMS but I'll attach the first 500kb anyway.

Could you run gnomevfs-info on the .iso? And copy "ls /usr/share/mime/packages/*" to a comment? Some package is probably declaring a bugged mime definition

It seems to have fixed itself. If it happens again, I'll post that info.
