Bug Description
If a version check fails for an engine there is no error handling, making the engine selection dialog not open.
To reproduce, change an linke engine to a version that will make the verion check reg.ex. fail, (like in bug #1855675), open the engine dialog.
You will get exception and dialog will not open (therefor cant change or reset the engine path).
