Yes, I had the same problem some time ago. It is that the filesystem is slow to populate the files in a directory.
I have the same problem with other programs too but the difference is that they first show the window and then
wait for populating the files. In TAPAAL the window first shows after all files were populated. Mathias, perhaps this
can be changed so that the window shows immediately and then you wait for populating the files (so that the user
can see that something happens)?
I cannot reproduce this, I have attached a USB hdd with 10.000 files in directory (as i could not get it to lag from my SSD). On my system, the window is displayed first and it even has a small loading animation and eventually the files are populated. I cannot reproduce this problem on Ubuntu either.
