Bug Description

## Description

For the past few months I have been experiencing a sporadic but very dangerous and critical issue. For some unknown reason my Xorg server will sometimes crash when attempting to open the drop-down list in Synapse. This usually happens after the system has been up for a while.

Downgrading Synapse to the build in the Ubuntu repos didn't help. Neither did upgrading the kernel and graphics stack to the latest hardware enablement stacks (I tried both Quantal and Raring. I am currently on the latter.)

Do you think this is a fault on Synapse's part or will I have to report this with X.org?

In any case I sincerely hope there is some way to fix this and I'd appreciate any help.

The crashes are occurring weekly now. I sincerely hope there's some way to fix them. Synapse is miles ahead of any other launcher for Linux and I would hate to have to abandon it. Please help me troubleshoot this.

Ari, your version of the enablement stack is EOL since August 2014 as outlined in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack.

If you are having an xorg crash issue, it will help immensely if you filed a new report with Ubuntu by ensuring you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information running the following from a terminal:
ubuntu-bug xorg

Also, please feel free to subscribe me to it.

For more on why this is helpful, please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.
