Bug Description

Since about 2 days now (I think it was rev. 500), animations are very choppy when changing pages and when switching from grid view to list view and vice versa.

Here are some info on my system:

Elementary OS Freya
Kernel 3.18.2-031802-generic

ATI Radeon R260X
Using oibaf and xorg-edgers PPA

Other animations in the OS seem to work very fine. In fact, the animation when opening and closing slingshot are silky smooth.

I'm currently using slingshot revision 502.

Affects me, too.
I am also using radeonsi (which in turn uses glamor for 2D acceleration) driver on my HD7850 with oibaf-ppa. Maybe there is a connection?

I think it's caused by gala... Try: killall gala and the animations will be very smooth. At least on my system it works like that.

Marking as invalid. These animations are provided by Gtk.Stack. So there isn't anything to be done in these programs

Changed in slingshot:
status: New → Invalid
Changed in switchboard:
