Sound profile keeps reverting to default

Bug Description
I have a Creative SoundBlaster external sound card which works fine almost all of the time.
The problem occurs when I change the song in Music the sound profile in the sound settings switches to the default one - 'Analog Stereo Output' and a significant change in sound quality is noticed. This only happens when a song is changed in Music.
Note: Same thing happens in other players I've tested - the sound profile reverts to default.
